During the group stage Denmark won two games 1-0: against Belgium and against Denmark. They also played the Netherlands, 17 days ago. Now facing them again in the final. Their previous match ended in a 1-0 victory for the Dutch team, a penalty scored by Sherida Spitse.
Denmark ended second in group A, meaning they’d face the winner of group B in the quarterfinal: Germany. They surprised everybody by knocking the current holders out of the tournament, beating them 2-1 in Rotterdam.
In Breda they couldn’t get past Austria in the regular time. After extra time the score remained 0-0. This lead to a penalty shoot-out, which Denmark won 3-0.
